The 2019-2020 budget does not include a change for tax credit programs, but some measures are good news for Quebec businesses.
Among these measures, the budget provides for a $ 1 billion increase in the capital stock of Investissement Québec, bringing it from $ 4 billion to $ 5 billion. This increase will allow Investissement Québec to increase its involvement with businesses from its own funds, particularly in the form of loans and equity investments.
The government is also committed to taking action to better support the growth of businesses and protect head offices. To this end, the 2019-2020 budget provides:
– the establishment of a $ 1 billion envelope to support the development of Québec’s strategic businesses;
– the constitution of a team whose mandate will be to develop a business intelligence in the field of the protection of head offices.
